Ernie Anastos possesses more than three decades' experience in the media industry, and he has achieved popularity among New Yorkers as a news anchor on FOX 5. Soon after starting his career in radio, Ernie Anastos moved on to television and landed a job as a news anchor. Over the years, he has worked on a number of well-known television news programs, including Good Morning America on ABC and The CBS Morning Show. He has also worked as a host and producer for programs such as Families, Polling America, and America Wants to Know. Though he does not ordinarily work as an actor, Ernie Anastos was featured in the 1996 science fiction film Independence Day and appeared on the action-packed television show 24. Today, he is an anchor on one of New York City’s highest-rated shows, FOX 5 News at 10:00 p.m.

Along with his career in television, Ernie Anastos has crossed over into the world of literature. In September of 1983, he published a book called Twixt: Teens Yesterday and Today, for which he received praise from The New York Times. Recently, Ernie Anastos wrote a series titled Ernie & the Big Newz, a collaboration with illustrator Bill Gallo. The books follow the story of a New York boy as he realizes his dream of becoming a reporter. Ernie Anastos continues to donate proceeds from this book to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.

In his free time, Ernie Anastos collects neckties, a hobby with which his viewers may be familiar. He also enjoys cooking, and he shares both passions with visitors to his website, ErnieAnastos.com.
